Inside Line Promotions – OHSWEKEN, Ontario, Canada (July 27, 2017) – Alex Hill capped three nights of racing in five days at her home track by making her second appearance in a 410ci winged sprint car in her career with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series on Tuesday night at Ohsweken Speedway.

Hill’s evening got off to a solid start when she timed in seventh quickest out of 19 drivers in her group.

“I rolled around the middle in turns one and two and diamonded it in turns three and four,” she said. “It went good and it was fast.”

Her qualifying effort earned her a fourth-place starting spot in her heat race, in which she finished ninth.

“The tires were spinning a lot in the heat,” she said. “I couldn’t get anywhere and dropped fast. I was barely on the gas and the car still wouldn’t stick. The track had changed a lot since qualifying.”

Hill started third in the Last Chance Showdown.

“I ran in a transfer spot (top four) for about four or five laps and then just dropped,” she said. “My crew chief, Daryl, and I talked before the race and decided that since the car hadn’t been good earlier it would probably be best if I just pulled in if it wasn’t much better that time and that’s what I did.”

Hill raced her 360 sprint car at the track on Friday and then again for the Northern Summer Nationals on Monday. She finished sixth in the A Main on Friday and 17th on Monday.

“Friday went pretty well,” she said. “The track was about like it usually is.
“On Monday it got pretty slick, like it was on Tuesday. But the car was pretty good and we were rolling pretty good. We just started too far back to do much.”

Hill is in the middle of a busy week as she flew to California on Wednesday for college orientation. The 17-year-old will fly to Iowa on Saturday to race with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, that evening before making her debut at Mason City Motor Speedway in Mason City, Iowa, the following night.
