Inside Line Promotions – JACKSON, Minn. (June 6, 2017) – Kerry Madsen guided Big Game Motorsports to a stout performance last weekend during the 39th annual AGCO Jackson Nationals.

The Muddy sponsored team won a preliminary night and finished in the top two during all three nights of the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series tripleheader at Jackson Motorplex.

“Every time we hit the track I felt good,” Madsen said. “It’s such a confidence builder.”

Madsen was strong from the time the event began on Thursday, when he set quick time during his group’s qualifying before winning a heat race from the pole position. Madsen then advanced from fifth to third place in the dash before picking up a position to end second during the main event.

“We were better on longer runs in the feature,” he said. “I had an opportunity on the last lap and I just didn’t get in there hard enough. Ian (Madsen) stayed on it and stayed in front of us, but it was still a good points night.”

The Muddy backed team continued to run up front on Friday, when Madsen timed in second quickest in his group. He then won both a heat race from the pole position and the dash after starting third.

“We had a really quick car, but the nose wing got knocked off on Lap 2 or 3 of the main event,” he said. “I couldn’t run 100 percent so I lost a bit of pace. Kraig (Kinser) was pushing me pretty hard. I couldn’t take it easy. I knew I was in the fast line so I focused on hitting my marks and dealing with traffic the best I could.”

Madsen led the entire 25-lap main event to post his first World of Outlaws win of the season and his third triumph overall this year. After points were calculated from the two preliminary nights, Madsen ranked No. 1 out of the 40 competitors. That lined him up on the pole of Saturday’s dash, which he won to start the $25,000-to-win main event on the pole.

“I had a really good car,” he said. “It got dicey with traffic. One guy couldn’t pick which way he was going and I lost a spot. I wasn’t worried when Brad (Sweet) got by because I felt like we had the pace to get around him. We ran him down at the end, but ran out of time. There’s always an excuse, but if you did better you would have got the job done.”

Madsen led the first 17 laps of the 30-lap main event before settling for the runner-up result, which marked his 10th top five of the season.

Madsen and Big Game Motorsports will compete this Friday and Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series and Sunday at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.
