Dancer Looks to Run Well With World of Outlaws This Weekend at Eldora

Inside Line Promotions – PLYMOUTH, Ind. (May 10, 2017) – Shawn Dancer was pleased with his results the last time out while competing with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series at Plymouth Speedway on April 28.
“Plymouth was a decent night,” he said. “We went out 15th for qualifying and our time was really bad.”
Cutting an inconsistent lap started Dancer ninth in a heat race. He finished 10th, which relegated him into the Last Chance Showdown.
“We struggled early in the night, but made some adjustments on the car before the B Main,” he said. “We started eighth in the B Main and finished fourth so the changes we made to the car made it a lot better.”
Earning a spot in the A Main, Dancer started 22nd and was able to gain a few positions throughout the race.
“It was a small track so there was a lot of traffic,” he said. “It was hard to deal with in the back. I ended up pulling off and we finished 20th.”
Dancer was happy that he was able to make the A Main with the Outlaws and he looks to carry that momentum into a World of Outlaws doubleheader at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, this Friday and Saturday.
“Eldora is a track that we struggle at,” he said. “The last time we ran there was with the All Star Circuit of Champions and we did pretty well at that race, but all in all, I’m not really that good on a half-mile track.”
Dancer said it’s easier to make up for mistakes on smaller tracks than on bigger tracks.
“We’ve got a little bit of freedom this weekend to do some testing and figure out some things that we may be able to use for the Kings Royal in July,” he said. “We’re going to do some things that we did in Vegas (earlier this season) that we felt worked and see how it goes at Eldora.”
Dancer has Kent Karhoff with him again this weekend and with the help from Dan and Cole in the shop he’s looking forward to focusing on racing and learning from his results.
“We definitely want to make the A Main this weekend,” he said. “I think there’ll be a huge car count and some really good racing.”
