Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (May 28, 2013) – It’s just a few short weeks away. That’s right, the World of Outlaws ride into the west Kansas town of Dodge City for the annual Boot Hill Showdown at Dodge City Raceway Park on July 5-6.
And tickets are available for the much anticipated event that brings the nation’s top Sprint Car drivers to western Kansas for the only time in 2013.
Advance tickets combos for both nights are available for $65 for reserved seats and just $50 for general admission. Single night tickets are $40 for reserved seats and $35 for general admission. Children’s tickets (12 and under) are $10 per night in general admission seating only.
Tickets may be ordered in advance by going to http://dirtcar.ticketforce.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=89.
Joining forces with the Kasey Kahne Racing team, Owasso, OK, native Daryn Pittman has enjoyed the hottest of hands over the early portion of the World of Outlaws season, currently holding a 178 point edge over five-time and defending WoO champion Donny Schatz of Fargo, ND, in the championship points chase.
While Pittman and Schatz lead the points race and are tied atop the win charts with five victories apiece, the WoO tour offers up a typically stellar cast of contenders including 20-time World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell, Paul McMahan, Joey Saldana, Craig Dollansky, Cody Darrah, Chad Kemenah, Kraig Kinser, Kerry Madsen, Jason Sides, Bill Rose and leading Rookie of the Year contender David Gravel.
Last year’s Boot Hill Showdown was an all-Kinser affair, with Steve Kinser holding off Sammy Swindell to top the opening night before son Kraig Kinser wired the field in the Boot Hill Showdown finale.
Jason Sides and Craig Dollansky topped Boot Hill Showdown features in 2011.
In addition to the much anticipated World of Outlaws Boot Hill Showdown on July 5-6, 18 scheduled nights of action at Dodge City Raceway Park over the course of 2013 features several special events including the TORC Off Road Trucks in April, a pair of $1,200-to-win IMCA Modified tilts in July along with USAC Sprint Cars on August 23-24 and four rounds of URSS Sprint Car competition along the way.
Dodge City Raceway Park is located on the south edge of Dodge City, KS, on US 283, then 0.9 miles west on US 56, then 0.1 miles south. For more information, contact the track at 620-225-3277 or check www.dodgecityraceway.com.
