Eighteen Drivers Secure Spots through Heat Races on Friday
(Concord, NC - November 1st, 2024) – Day two of the 9th Annual World Short Track Championship at The Dirt Track at Charlotte saw 18 drivers secured their positions in Saturday night’s main event through six thrilling Chevrolet Performance Heat Races.
Heat race winners included:
Heat 1: John Ruggiero-Lincoln, NC
Heat 2: Bubba Roling(R)-Clay Hill, FL
Heat 3: Austin Yarbrough-Blackshear, GA
Heat 4: Layton Sullivan-Gaffney, SC
Heat 5: Trent Ivey-Union, SC
Heat 6: Colby Quick-Sailsbury, MC
In addition to the heat race victors, a strong field of competitors advanced to the main event, including Ethan Wilson, Hunter Kohn, Matt Dooley, Blake Pryer, Dillon Brown, Beckham Malone, Jeremy Steele, Benji Hicks, Matt Henderson, John Price, Jody Knowles, and Joey Warren through the six heat races as well.

The final 42 drivers will need to navigate through two Rogers-Dabbs Chevrolet B-Mains, with only 3 from each advancing to the main event. Championship Saturday will kick off with pit gates opening at 11 AM, followed by a mandatory drivers meeting at 2 PM. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for 4 PM.
