ASCS Elite Non-Wing In Action At Heart O' Texas and Abilene Speedway

Bryan Hulbert – TULSA, Okla. (April 7, 2021) Another two nights on the horizon, the ASCS Elite Non-Wing Series presented by Abilene Powder Coating will be Heart O’ Texas Speedway in El Mott on Friday, April 9, and Abilene Speedway on Saturday, April 10.

The first of two appearances at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway, this Friday’s showdown marks the annual Gordon Wolley Classic. Last, in action at the El Mott quarter-mile on August 7, 2020, the field of 27 was topped by Kennedale’s Kyle Jones.

Since the series’ first appearance in 2017, six events have been contested with four winners. Tyler Russell captured the inaugural showdown in 2017. The following year, Kyle Jones and Justin Melton each grabbed wins. A pair of trips in 2019, Kevin Ramey took the Wolley while Melton grabbed his second Bill White Shootout victory.

Friday’s card will also include IMCA Modifieds, Stock Cars, Southern Sport Mods, Outlaw Street Stocks, and Factory Stocks. Gates open at 6:00 P.M. with racing at 8:00 P.M. (CDT). Admission is $15. Seniors, Military, and Students are $12, youth 6-12 is $5, and kids five and under are free. Pit Passes are $35.

Absent from Abilene Speedway since 2018, the last visit by the ASCS Elite Non-Wing Series presented by Abilene Powder Coating saw Paul White roll into Victory Lane. Three events previous, the first in 2015, went to Dustin Gates, with the 2016 win going to Justin Melton. In 2017, the victory went to Justin Zimmerman.

Along with Wingless Sprint Cars, support divisions include I-Stock Car, Abilene Radiator IMCA Modifieds, Sport Compact, Southern Sport Mods, Street Stock, and the Tony Hernandez Jr Minis. Gates open at 5:30 P.M. with racing at 8:00 P.M. (CDT). Admission is $15 for adults, $12 for Senior and Military, and free for kids five and under. Pits are $35.
