McClelland and Campbell Take Sooner Region Title Fight Into Creek County Speedway Fall Fling

Bryan Hulbert – SAPULPA, Okla. (October 26, 2020) Down to the final two rounds of the 2020 season, the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products heads for the Creek County Speedway Fall Fling on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31.

Offering up a $2,000 winner’s check each night, Friday will pay $300 to start with Saturday, upped to $350 to start thanks to Racinboys.com. Both nights, heat Races will also payout $100 to win thanks to the Passing Points Podcast, Schure Built Suspension, and Oklahoma Tidbits. Hard Charger will get $100 from Bush’s Chicken, and Hard Luck will also get $100 from D-UP Racing.

Down to the wire to determine the 2020 Champion, Oklahoma’s Sean McClelland and Kansas shoe, Jeremy Campbell, are separated by two markers going into the season-ending weekend.

First topping the ASCS Sooner Region in 2005, Sean McClelland added championships in 2010 and 2019. Having raced since 1996, McClelland has 23 wins in ASCS competition, including a National Tour triumph at Houston Raceway Park on March 11, 2006. That year, Sean would go on to finish sixth in National Tour standings.

Looking at the man giving chase, Jeremy Campbell is not to be counted out. While the 2020 run is technically a rookie season for the Kansas racer, Jeremy is not short on experience with four NCRA titles and eighth championships at 81-Speedway. Previous to that, Campbell chased points around his home state of Michigan with Sprints on Dirt before traveling the country with the All-Star Circuit of Champions, Gumout Series, and World of Outlaws.

Friday, October 30 at Creek County Speedway opens at 5:00 P.M. with Hot Laps at 7:15 P.M. and racing at 8:00 P.M. (CT). Saturday, October 31, opens at 3:00 P.M. with Hot Laps at 5:15 P.M. and racing at 6:00 P.M. (CT). Admission each night is $15, with kids 10 and under free into the grandstands.
