Race of Champions Late Model Series competitors will be racing for bigger bonuses when they finally return to the track on Saturday, September 26 in the “Rick Wylie Classic” run as part of Presque Isle Downs and Casino, Race of Champions Weekend in North East, Pa., at Lake Erie Speedway. The race, a 48-lap event, will now pay $3,048.70-to-win. The race started out as a $1,250-to-win event, but several folks have contributed to make the race one of the best paying short distance races of the season. In addition the driver running in 5th place at lap 24 (halfway) will receive an additional $480.

Alan Morrison, former race official, racer and friend of Wylie created the bonuses. “Rick was a great competitor and friend and we felt this was a great way to honor him with these additional bonuses.”

Bonuses have been added by Fullone Trucking, Wylie’s long time sponsor, adding $1,000 in bonus to be passed out post-race. Scott Wylie, Rick’s son, has collected $3,600 in lap money as well as arranged for the following bonuses to be distributed, GTR Promotions will award $250 to the team making the longest tow, a “Hard Charger” Award, posted by Joe Manko, Rich Littlefield and Gilbert Leroy Rosie, III of $320. Pete Sisti has posted a $100 bonus to the leader at halfway in the race. Ryan Hecht will be posting a $75 bonus to the fastest overall qualifier during the green-white-checkered qualifying session.

Tickets may be purchased for the weekend and will be available at the Lake Erie Speedway ticket office or at www.lakeeriespeedway.com. In the event that there is inclement weather, the event will be postponed to 2021, due to the prior commitment to Mahoning Valley Speedway and their Race of Champions Modified Series event on Saturday, October 3, with an agreed upon and announced inclement weather date of Saturday, October 10.

Ticket prices for Saturday, September 26; Adult General Admission Tickets - $20; Senior General Admission Tickets - $17; Reserved Seat Tickets (Regardless of Age) - $25 – Children (6-16) – General Admission Tickets - $10; Children Under 5 General Admission Tickets – Free; Pit Passes – $45.

Ticket prices for Sunday, September 27; Adult General Admission Tickets - $35; Senior General Admission Tickets - $33; Reserved Seat Tickets (Regardless of Age) - $40 – Children (6-16) – General Admission Tickets - $12; Children Under 5 General Admission Tickets – Free; Pit Passes – $65.
