Late Race Crash Ends Miranda Arnold’s Night

PETERSEN MEDIA- At the Springfield Raceway in Springfield, MO, Sedailia, MO native, Miranda Arnold fell victim to a late race B-main crash while she was battling for a transfer spot ending her night prematurely.

Heat race action saw Miranda finish in the sixth spot aboard her Arnold Motorsports entry, forcing her to make a stop in the B-main for one final shot at making the feature event.

The B-main saw Miranda line her Mid-Mo Autos Sales/K&N Products/ButlerBuilt backed entry up in the 10th spot needing to advance to the top four to grab a transfer spot.

With the 15-lap event getting underway, Miranda quickly began moving forward. By the fifth lap, Miranda had already jumped into the sixth spot after getting past Brad Graham and Kyle Bellm.

The next three circuits saw the lady race get past Jonathan Beason for the fifth spot, and she set her sights on Eric Todd for the fourth and final transfer spot.

As she began pressuring Todd, disaster struck as contact with the wall caused severe right rear wheel damage, retiring Arnold for the night. She was credited with a 14th place finish.

“Any time you tear stuff up is never fun,” said Miranda. “The bright spot about the night is my car was awesome in the B, and I can’t thank all my crew enough for that. We were really moving forward and I think we would have been good enough to get in the A.”

Miranda would like to thank Mid-Mo Auto Sales, Impact Signs, Awnings & Wraps / impact4800.com, Alliance Performance Group, ButlerBuilt, K&N Performance, Champion Oil, Vortex Race Products, Hooker Harness, Don’s Truck Towing, Hoosier Tire, Fastenal, Ralph’s Sandblasting, Ti64, Weld Wheels, Buso’s AA Muffler Shop, State Fair Moving and Storage, Xtreme Fuel Sticks, and CIP Race Bodies for their continued support in 2011.

SPONSOR SHOUT-OUT: Alliance Performance Group

Alliance Performance Group, Inc., which was incorporated on September 12, 2005, manufactures the lightest and strongest sprint car fuel cell bladders in the industry. APG bladders are, in fact, 25% lighter and 28% stronger than their closest competitor. To add to this bladder's bragging rights is the fact that it is the sole sprint car bladder to have ever passed the rigorous SFI Foundation lab tests under Specification 28.2 for crash resistant fuel bladders. These standards were designed under military helicopter fuel safe specifications. On December 2007, SFI certification was received and on January 2008 we received USAC (United States Auto Club) approval. This means APG is the safest bladder as well.
