RACE OF CHAMPIONS MODIFIED FAMILY OF SERIES “PAUSES” EVENT ACTIVITY BEGINNING WITH CHEMUNG SPEEDROME EVENT ON SATURDAY, MAY 16, 2020

The Race of Champions Modified Series and Chemung Speedrome management has postponed the season opening event originally scheduled for Chemung Speedrome on Saturday, May 16. In addition Race of Champions Modified Series management has postponed all other events scheduled for May 2020. Additional May events were scheduled at Spencer Speedway in Williamson, N.Y.

The postponement follows the state of New York and Governor Andrew Cuomo's issued "PAUSE" act in regard to the restrictions of “mass gatherings” associated with the COVID-19, coronavirus pandemic. The states of New York and Pennsylvania are working toward opening regionally with gathering restrictions remaining in place throughout the phased re-openings.

As additional dates approach, unless the restrictions have been lifted or altered, those events will be postponed as well. Rescheduling or alteration of events, including cancellation will take place once the state Governments determine dates where events may resume during the phased re-opening process.

There are current discussions in place in regard to the return of these events, however the safety, health and well-being of everyone takes precedent in this situation.

Race of Champions management will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.

The Race of Champions is a sanctioning body presenting Modified and Stock Car racing on asphalt and dirt surfaces throughout the Northeast, with events in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey with primary marketing partners Hoosier Racing Tire, VP Racing Fuels, Printed Image of Buffalo, Waddell Communications, Pilat Graphic Design, TDH Refrigeration, RPM Newsletter and Workshops; Sherwood Racing Wheels, DirtTrackDigest.com, Wilbert’s U-Pull It and Speed51.com.
