STRAND EARNS TRI-CITY SERIES FINAL VICTORY
After two complete restarts, Marlyn Seidler led from the pole in the Tri-City IMCA Modified Series feature. It was the final race in the six race series. Shawn Strand quickly passed outside pole sitter, Travis Olheiser for second and reeled in Seidler. However, Seidler started to pull away midway through the feature. As Seidler started to catch lapped traffic,Strand erased Seidler’s large lead once again. They raced side by side through lapped traffic, but Seidler used the slower traffic to his advantage to hang onto the lead. However, with seven laps to go, Strand reeled Seidler back in for a late race challenge for the win. They raced side by side for the lead once more but this time, Strand was able to complete the pass. With five laps to go, Strand started to pull away. When the white flag waved, third place Austin Arneson had mechanical problems as he was forced his take his car to the pits prematurely. When the checkered flag waved for the final time this season, it was Shawn Strand who found victory lane for the second time in 2019. Although he led most of the race, Marlyn Seidler had to settle for second place. Brad Hartigan just narrowly edged Travis Ohleiser for third while Travis Tooley held off Jeremy Keller for fifth.
*After the conclusion of the IMCA Modified feature, officials disqualified third place Brad Hartigan for being too light.
