VINTAGE MODIFIEDS JOIN THE FUN THIS FRIDAY AT THE BIG R

RANSOMVILLE, N.Y. (July 27, 2019) - Ransomville Speedway kicks off the month of August this Friday night with a full card of DIRTCar racing plus the Can-Am Cup Vintage Dirt Modifieds presented by Mark Cerrone Inc., Certo Brothers Distributing and Custom Laser.

The final month of the regular season at the “Big R” will start with all five division championship races up for grabs. The largest points lead is in the Gippster’s Collision Mini Stock where Cole Susice, fresh off his first win of the season this past Friday, leads Mike Kramarz by 36 points. Butch Zimmerman leads the Stevenson’s Hardware Novice Sportsman standings by just 20 points over Mike Martin with four-time feature winner Bubby Pawlak 54 points out of the lead.

The Ki-Po Chevrolet Street Stocks are shaping up to be a three-way battle for the title with Cory Sawyer ahead of Pete Stefanski by 20 points and Jaren Israel by 36.

The closest races are in the Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds and Investor’s Service Sportsman. Defending Sportsman champ, Brett Senek, holds a slim three point lead over Derek Wagner after Wagner won his second race of the season this past Friday.

The most talked about rivalry in local racing this season has been the one between Erick Rudolph and Mat Williamson. These drivers battle out weekly at the “Big R” as well as on the Super DIRTCar Big Block and 358 Modified Series. Rudolph is coming off his fourth win of the year at Ransomville, which gave him a scant eight point advantage over Williamson. Mike Bowman and Ryan Susice are also in the hunt with Bowman 34 markers back and Susice 44 points out of first.

The Can-Am Cup Vintage Dirt Modifieds will be on hand this Friday. This special three-race series will trek across the Niagara Region next weekend starting at Ransomville followed by stops at Merrittville and Humberstone. It should draw a large and eclectic mix of vintage racers.

Pit gates will open at 5 p.m. with grandstands opening at 6 p.m. Racing starts at 7:15 p.m. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and students (ages 13-17 with valid school ID), $8 for children ages 9-12 and kids 8 and under are free. Pit admission is $27 for member, $32 for non-member.
