38TH ANNUAL PEPSI NATIONALS THIS SUNDAY AT ANGELL PARK

SUN PRAIRIE, WISC. (July 3, 2019) – The Pepsi Nationals has long been one of midget racing’s most sought after crown jewel wins, and this Sunday, July 7, it is back at Angell Park Speedway. Hosting the 38th running of the prestigious event, the Sun Prairie, Wisc. 1/3rd-mile will play host to the stars and cars of the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League as a new champion is crowned.

Making their lone trip into “The Badger State,” Sunday’s show at Angell Park will be the only appearance in 2019 for the POWRi National Midgets in Wisconsin. An iconic track that has been in operation since 1936, Angell Park is without a doubt the most storied facility that POWRi will see this season.

Of the defending champions in action, Zach Daum of Pocahontas, Ill., who won in 2013 and 2017, enters in pursuit of his third-career Pepsi Nationals crown. Tanner Carrick of Lincoln, Calif. comes into Sunday’s running as the defending winner, as he broke through at Angell Park last summer for his second-career victory with the POWRi National Midgets.

Sutter, Calif. native Logan Seavey, the 2017 POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League champion, enters the Pepsi Nationals with the points lead firmly in grasp on the strength of six impressive triumphs this year. Trailing him in points is Tucker Klaasmeyer (-460), Zach Daum (-560), Jesse Colwell (-580) and Jake Neuman (-650).

For those unable to attend, Speed Shift TV will have a LIVE broadcast of the 38th annual Pepsi Nationals at Angell Park Speedway. Those with VIP Subscriptions will have access to the program with single-event packages available for purchase at www.speedshifttv.com.

On Sunday at Angell Park, the pits will open at 1:00 PM with spectator gates opening at 4:00 PM followed by hot laps at 5:30 PM and racing shortly to follow. General admission is $20, students 12-18 are $15, kids 12-under are FREE with an adult. Also in action on Sunday night will be the Badger Midgets, the Wisconsin Wingless Sprints and the Wisconsin Dirt Legends. At the completion of the program, fans will be treated to an extravagant fireworks show.
