Tom Peterson Prevails with NOW600 Tel-Star Mountain West Region at Newcastle Speedway

NEWCASTLE, Wyom. (May 26, 20190 - Tom Peterson prevailed on Saturday capturing the NOW600 Tel-Star Tech Mountain West Region at Newcastle Speedway.

A night that started out looking like doom with high winds, rains and hail set in early across the Newcastle Speedway, but officials had a strong desire to get the show in.

14 drivers checked in for action and waited out the delay and Tom Peterson jumped out to the early lead in the 20-lap feature event. On lap nine, Ron Fulk got around Peterson in lap traffic but mechanical failure set in shortly after acquiring the lead. The lead was handed over to Wren Jacobs on lap ten under caution. Jacbos lead until hooking a rut in turn 3 and 4 and fell back on lap 15 which allowed Peterson to move up to the top spot and claim the victory.

Hunter Rhoades took the second spot with Wren Jacobs falling back to third. Fourth went to Doug McIntosh with the top five rounding out with Ryan Fulk.

Tristan Ullstrom was sixth. Seventh went to AJ Holmes. Nikko Bailes was eighth at the line with Brianna Rhoades ninth and Chance Ullstrom tenth.

Next up the NOW600 Tel-Star Technologies Mountain West Region heads for the Jackpine Gypsies Short Track in Sturgis, South Dakota on June 7 and 8 for a double header weekend.
