Bryan Hulbert – TULSA, Okla. (September 12, 2018) Down to the final five events of the 2018 season, the ASCS Southwest Region will see four of those dates at Arizona Speedway, starting with this weekend’s visit on Saturday, September 15.
Taking time away during the hottest part of the summer, the series last visit on June 30 saw J.T. Imperial picking up the win.
Going into Saturday’s showdown, the race for the 2018 Championship is anyone’s game with Rick Ziehl atop the standings by four points over Jesse Baker, 11 points over Billy Chester, 32 points ahead of Colton Hardy, and 33 markers ahead of Josh Shipley.
Going down to sixth, Alex Pettas is also in the mix, despite being 109 points removed. Lorne Wofford, Jarrett Martin, Steve Cushman, and Mark Clark make up the top-ten.
So far this season, Arizona Speedway has seen action four times with the ASCS Southwest Region with Gary Taylor, Colton Hardy, and J.T. Imperial splitting time in Victory Lane, with the nod going to Imperial’s two wins in the series last two visits.
Saturday, September 15 will also include IMCA Modifieds, Sport Mods, Pure Stocks, and Bombers. Gates to the grandstands open at 5:00 P.M. with racing getting underway at 7:00 P.M. (MT). Admission is $15 for adults with Seniors only $12. Kids 11 and under get in the grandstands for free.
