BLOCK, MULLEN AND WIESE WINNERS AT THE BURG

(Luxemburg, WI)- A total of 105 racers checked in to do battle Friday night at Luxemburg Speedway. There were 27 IMCA Modifieds, 25 IMCA Stock Cars, 23 IMCA Sport Mods, 18 Street Stocks and 12 IMCA Sport Compacts. Racing resumes next Friday August 3rd for the Gnome Games Kids Big Wheel and Bike race.
Mark Schuenemann paced the opening circuits of the IMCA Stock Car feature until Rod Snellenberger raced by on lap 8. With only a handful of nights in the class, Mike Mullen motored from row 6 to the runner up position. Snellenberger worked the cushion with Mullen right on his bumper. Mullen threw a slide job on lap 12, clearing Snellenberger for the top spot. Mullen pulled away to score his first win in the class. Snellenberger had to settle for second, Dave Bouche brought home third, Schuenemann was fourth and John Anschutz completed the top five.
Rookie Wyatt Block Jr. proved to be best in the IMCA Modifieds. Block jumped from his front row starting spot and never looked back, leading all 20 laps to his first ever Luxemburg feature win. James Tebon gave chase all race long to place second, Jeff Bodendorfer was third, Johnny Whitman raced from row 6 to place fourth and rookie Jacob Zellner completed the top five.
A three-car battle ensued for the final 10 laps of the IMCA Sport Mod main. Todd Wiese paced the field with Kyle Raddant and Craig Dorner hot on his heels. Raddant and Dorner pressured Wiese the entire way but in the end, Wiese was up for the challenge and collected the win. Raddant was second, Lucas Lambries placed third, Dorner took fourth and Chris Budzban placed fifth in a borrowed car.
Dan Van Pay was victorious in the Street Stocks. Point leader Dave DeGrave was second, Paul Ambrosius raced from seventeenth to place an impressive third, Derek Moede was fourth and Joe Johnson took fifth.
Roland Van De Hei was first to the checkers in the IMCA Sport Compact feature but his car didn’t clear post-race tech, handing the win to Missy Clark. The win is the first ever for Clark.
