Wiest Earns Third Win of the Season
Pole sitter Carson Dowling lead the field to the green flag in the Executive Air Taxi INEX Legends. Outside pole sitter, Dauntae Martin, quickly took the lead going into corners one and two. Hugging the guardrail around the bottom of the track, Donavin Wiest wasted no time racing from ninth to second. Wiest was all over Martin’s rear bumper before taking the lead on lap two. Wiest started to pull away but a caution with five laps to go reset the field. On the restart, Troy Hoff challenged Wiest for the lead. As they battled for the lead, Drew Papke closed in on the leaders using the high side of the track. A caution with two laps to go set up a green-white-checkered shootout for the win. Austin Wiest,who started 12th, looked low under Wiest on the restart. Donavin Wiest forcefully shut the door, causing contact between to the two drivers. As the checkered flag waved, Donavin Wiest held on to win his third feature victory over Austin Wiest. Troy Hoff finished third ahead of Drew Papke while Dauntae Martin rounded out the top five.
