EL PASO, Texas (November 9, 2016) Taking little time to return to Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour Victory Lane, John Carney II garnered his 13th overall victory of the season this past weekend by winning the John Christner Trucking Fall Fling at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla.

Starting off Friday night with a fourth place run, the driver of the Lubbock Wrecker No. 11x locked into Saturday’s A-Feature.

“It was really just typical short track fashion where we caught a few breaks, dodged a few wrecks, and just stayed right in the hunt,” commented Carney. “We slipped into second at one point, and just got caught by some of the lapped cars and fell back to fourth and then had Herrera make an attempt there late to get me, but we were able to hold him off.”

Drawing the pole for Saturday’s feature event, Carney took full advantage of the top starting spot to out run Wayne Johnson into the first two turns.

“We got the jump there on the start. Starting on the pole is kind of the best and worst of both worlds because it’s your race to lose. It’s everyone else’s job to pass you and there may be a groove that comes in late in the race that you don’t know about and that could get you in trouble,” explained Carney. “Actually, after watching the video, I should have been running the bottom of one and two and the top of three and four but nevertheless; it was a really fun race with Hafertepe and I was glad to be in a position to win.”

John and the entire Lubbock Wrecker Service team would like to extend a special thank you to everyone who helped with the Fall Fling.

“That was a neat race, and I can’t thank everyone who helped enough. Emmett, ASCS, all the sponsors, and especially everyone who sponsored a lap. That extra support means a lot to the whole team. I especially want to thank Scott Brown for letting me drive his car.”

As of now, this coming weekend is a TBA for Carney.
