SAPULPA, Okla. (October 5, 2016) Taking on the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb. this past Saturday night, Blake Hahn rolled out of the Casey’s Mid-West Fall Brawl with his 37th top-ten on the season.

“We struggled early. In the Heat Race the car just wouldn’t run,” said Hahn who finished fifth in the opening Heat Race. “With the format of double Heats, it gave us another shot at passing points which was great because we ended up finding the Engine was down due to timing. Once we got it adjusted, it really picked up and moved in the second Heat Race”

Putting the Lucas Oil / Wesmar No. 52 into one of the night’s Dash races, Hahn’s finish positioned him 12th in the A-Feature lineup. Moving up to eighth by the checkered flag, Hahn ran the bottom side of the I-80 Speedway with no intention of trying the cushion unless absolutely necessary,

“We were still under powered in the A-Feature. This engine is a backup to our short track engine and with the track as good as it was, we’d be flat halfway down the straights so I just had to wait for the track to come to me because we just didn’t have enough for the cushion. Towards the end, we were able to really start moving forward. A lot of those guys couldn’t stick the bottom and when they’d slide out, I was able to get under them.”

With the National Tour off until the Devil’s Bowl Winter Nationals on October 14 and 15, Hahn will make his way to the Timberline Speedway in Corley, Texas with the ASCS Red River Region. In Hahn’s last appearance at the east Texas oval, the finish was nearly wheel-to-wheel for the win with Sam Hafertepe, Jr.

“Timberline is a fun track. It gets slick so I’m not worried about the horsepower aspect so much. Plus, we were so close to winning last time, I want to see if we can get it done this trip.”
