CGS Ready To Induct 2016 Class In Wall Of Fame

Cottage Grove, Oregon- In addition to some fantastic racing at Cottage Grove Speedway this weekend there will also be some other fantastic moments off of the track at Cottage Grove Speedway come Saturday, August 13th. The historic ¼-mile clay oval will induct the 2016 Class into the Wall of Fame. This will be the thirteenth class and will include seventeen new members. The ceremony is scheduled to take place after all of the heat races have been completed.

The Cottage Grove Speedway Wall of Fame is made up of former drivers, car owners, track owners, track workers, etc. in an effort to commemorate and preserve the long and storied history of the track. 2016 is the 60th Anniversary of racing at CGS and because of this incredible benchmark, there is larger-than-normal size class of inductees. This year’s class includes Heather Boyce, Rick Boyce, Buddy Murphy, Dennis Sears, Doug Townsend, Allen Lowe, Craig Kulm, Ryan McTaggart, Kerry Crha, Dan Radonski, Howard Dull, Kitty Tabenkrau, Lester Hankins, Brian Crockett, Harley Lewis, Wendell Cooper, and Frank Brewer.

One of the other special things to catch is the countless number of display boards chronicling the entire legacy of Cottage Grove Speedway. These display boards are made up of pictures, articles, and other wonderful pieces of memorabilia generously donated by so many very special people. Also, there is going to be vintage race cars on display as well.

Times for Saturday are Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, and Racing is scheduled to start around 6:30. Tickets are Adults $13.00, Juniors/Seniors $10.00, Youth (6-12) $5.00, Family Pass $30.00, and Children 5 or under are FREE.
