Blake Hahn Kicks Off ASCS Speedweek With Top 10 At Route 66 Motor Speedway

SAPULPA, Okla. (June 13, 2016) Speedweek is underway, and Blake Hahn kicked if off with a Top 10 run at the Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas on Saturday, June 11 with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network.
“It was a good night but it was a challenge because of the wind. I’ve raced with some wind, but never like that so it took me a long time to figure out how to work with it,” said Hahn. “That was a neat track though. I’m really looking forward to going back next year.”
Finishing fourth in the Heat Race, the finish set Blake up 11th in the A-Feature lineup.
“I was committed to the bottom on the feature and it worked. We were able to move forward and got up to about seventh at one point but the wind was killing my momentum. In one and two, it would just plant the car but in three and four, it kept getting under the wing and unhooking my Left Rear so that allowed Seth [Bergman] and John [Carney] to get by me toward the end. I finally got a line going the final few laps and was able to get them both back on the last lap.”

Rolling into the Devil’s Bowl on Tuesday, the Texas showdown kicks off five consecutive nights to end out the 2016 ASCS Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek. In Hahn’s last visit to the Half-Mile in March, the Lucas Oil / Wesmar No. 52 finished sixth.
