BOYLES WINS WAR AT LAKESIDE

Kansas City, KS (May 5, 2016) - Taking over the top spot after leader Terry Babb broke an axle on lap 22, Clinton Boyles picked up his second straight Boss Chassis WAR Series win on Thursday at Lakeside Speedway.

Polesitter Babb set the pace early, holding off pressure from second-starting Ryan Kitchen and Zach Daum. Babb would lead the first three laps, with Kitchen assuming command on lap four. The action was furious between Kitchen, Babb, Daum, Riley Kreisel and Aaron Reutzel. Kitchen would lead laps four and five, with Babb battling back and assuming control on lap six. Behind Babb, a torrid battle developed among Kitchen, Kreisel, Daum, Reutzel and tenth-starting Boyles. Babb would continue to lead while the battle continued for position behind him.

The wild action would come to a halt on lap fourteen for TJ Muths, who took a vicious flip down the frontstretch. Muths would emerge from his badly damaged car, much to the delight of those in attendance. The action would be halted again, before another lap could be completed, as Wyatt Burks stopped on the frontstretch. Burks would be towed to the pits, ending his evening.

When the green flag waved, Babb assumed command. He would remain in control over the next handful of laps as the action would again be halted for a Warren Johnson flip in between turns three and four. Babb again assumed control and the driver now on the move was Boyles, who had worked his way up to second from his tenth starting spot.

With twenty-one laps in the books, it appeared Babb was on his way to his second win of 2016 when an axle broke, sending him into the turn two wall and ending his evening in the KCBJ Motorsports #8D.

On the restart, Boyles took off running the high side with Kreisel on his bumper. Kreisel kept pace until the white flag lap, when he got too high and nearly into the wall in turn one. At the checkered flag, Boyles, in the Jesse Hockett Racing #77, scored his second win of 2016 in only his fifth career start with WAR. Kreisel, in his first WAR start of 2016, was second in the Rick and Deb Smith-owned/R&K Express MRP with Engine Connection power. Kitchen was third, but would be disqualified after coming up light at the scales in his #21. This moved Reutzel up to third in his Blackened Motorsports #7JR. Danny Thoman, subbing in the Helm Racing #12 for the first time, was fourth. Daum rounded out the top five in the DKM Motorsports #75K.

The Boss Chassis WAR Series will be in action on Saturday, May 7, at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO, as part of the 5th Annual Impact Signs, Awnings and Wraps Open Wheel Showdown.
