MIDWEST SUPER MODS HIT TOLEDO FOR GLASS CITY NATIONALS: $4K TO WIN POSTED FOR FASTEST SHOW IN THE WORLD JUNE 10

Toledo, Ohio—March 18, 2016: Officials from the Midwest Super Modified Association (MSA) and Toledo Speedway have teamed together to present the “Glass City Nationals” for the Super Modified portion of the 16th Annual “Fastest Short Track Show in the World” at Toledo Friday evening, June 10. The MSA event will feature a 50 lap main event, with $4000 posted to win the race and $700 to start.
The event, an open-wheel tradition at the Glass City oval, will also see the return of All American Coach of Sylvania, OH, Hemelgarn Racing and Super Fitness as the title sponsors. The MSA Super Modifieds will share the spotlight with the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints (AVBBSS), making for one of the top open-wheel events in the Midwest. A.J. Lesiecki posted his first-ever win in MSA competition in the 2015 classic, while hometown favorite Jimmy McCune was victorious in the AVBBSS Winged Sprint feature event.
The June 10 contest will make history for the MSA teams as the biggest purse ever at Toledo Speedway for the group. “We are very pleased to make this announcement with Toledo to host the first-ever Glass City Nationals for the MSA,” stated Kevin Jaycox, President of the group. “The race will be the highlight of our 2016 schedule.”
“We have a strong contingent of open-wheel fans and, for that fact, short track fans, who look forward to the Fastest Short Track Show in the World every season,” said Ron Drager, Owner and Promoter of the Toledo track. “The opportunity to create the Glass City Nationals for the MSA Super Modifieds for their event is expected to add a few more entries for the race,” added Drager. “We look forward to working with the MSA teams as well as the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprint teams to continue to make this race a great experience for the race fans.”
The excitement begins to build in practice as the teams prepare their machines for the much-anticipated time trial session.
Fans can save $5 on adult advance ticket purchases if purchased before Thursday, June 9 at 5 p.m. Reserved, general admission and children’s tickets are available by calling the track at 419-727-1100, by downloading the ticket order form from the track’s webpage (under the ticket button) and returning by email or by stopping in the track office.
The complete time schedule for the Friday, June 10 date will be announced shortly. Time trials will begin at 5:30 and racing begins at 7:30 p.m.
