TULSA, Okla. (March 9, 2016) With anticipation already high with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network making appearances in Michigan and Indiana during the month of June, the pool of racing talent will be deep for the three nights of action.

Paring with the newly formed Great Lakes Super Sprints, who will utilize ASCS engine and car rules in 2016, the Lucas Oil ASCS and GLSS will co-sanction events at Plymouth Speedway (Plymouth, Ind.) on June 1, Hartford Speedway (Hartford, Mich.) on June 3, and Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Ind.) on June 4.

“It puts us on a national playing field and really gives credibility to the races and the Great Lakes Super Sprints,” said GLSS founder, Barry Marlow. “

“I’ve had this conversation with a couple people, and there are certain aspects of this series that are bigger than I expected. Forming it wasn’t a real surprise, but now we have a foot in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and even Ontario and working with a nationally recognized touring series really adds to what we are doing so I’m really looking forward to it.”

Talking with ASCS director, Matt Ward, the idea of pairing with the GLSS was one of helping to build the new series.

“The goal of ASCS is to build Sprint Car racing for the long run and helping the racers. Talking with Barry, he has the same mindset of helping the racers and wanting to promote the sport. This also ensures that the fans will have a great field of cars. Looking at some of the drivers Barry has running for him this year, it’s going to be some tough competition.”
