USAC Sprint Cars “Brawl for It All” Saturday at CSP!

The USAC Southwest Sprint Cars take to the 1/3-mile Canyon Speedway Park just one more time this year.

And that one time is this Saturday night, as they square off with the USAC West Coast Sprint Cars in the $2,500-to-win “Brawl for It All”.

Along with the USAC Southwest vs. USAC West Coast brawl, the IMCA Modifieds, Pure Stocks, Micro Sprints and Dwarf Cars will be in action as well with the green flag flying at 7:00 p.m. following a Friday night open practice from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

West Coast shoe Mike Spencer of Temecula, CA, reigns as the most recent winner of the “Brawl for It All” in 2013 after last year’s round was rained out. Charles Davis, Jr., topped the initial “Brawl” in 2012.

After winning three of the first four USAC Southwest regular season point events at CSP this year, current series leader R.J. Johnson has been denied in the most recent pair of events with reigning Western World champ Matt Rossi and Stevie Sussex taking victory honors.

Sussex’ triumph in the August 1 Allscapes Back to School Special was his second CSP score of the year after splitting Salute to Indy honors with Johnson.

Gunning for a third consecutive USAC Southwest title, Johnson brings a 64-point lead over Charles Davis, Jr., into the night with Rossi, Sussex and Josh Pelkey also among the current top five.

While Jason Noll comes into the night off a weekend sweep of 9th World Vapors IMCA Modified action, it’s Garrett Funk atop the Modified point charts with a 21 point lead over Shawn Zelenka. George Fronsman is another 20 points back in third.

Matt Martinez added his ninth overall Arizona Differential Pure Stock win of the year on Saturday. His lead is a slim one though at just 14 points over Zack Madrid with Chris McCurdy, Jr., another seven points back in third.

Cody Batten has topped two of the most three recent Micro Sprint outings at CSP including the most recent main event on August 15 while Tony Martin and Glenn Branham split Dwarf Car honors during the recent Stock Car Shootout 100 weekend.

Tickets for Saturday’s “Brawl for It All” Fourth Annual Summer Slam are just $18, with children ages 7-12 just $10. VIP Suite passes are available for $25 with All Access Passes for $35.
