Winston Speedway Ends Season with Double Feature Night!

Rothbury, Michigan (Friday, September 4th, 2015): The 2015 racing season was brought to an end at the Winston Speedway located in Rothbury, Michigan this past Friday evening. The fans were treated to a special double feature night. The racing action included not only the makeup races from August 28th, but also seven new features as well. The divisions on hand were Late Models, UMP DIRTcar Modifieds, Michigan Dirt Modifieds, Street Stocks, Bombers, Four-Cylinder Warriors, and Young Guns.

The high-powered Late Models competed in a 25-lap contest. Kyle Borgman would take home the checkered flag. He finished just ahead of Eric Spangler, Rob Taylor, Eric Midkiff, and Kenny Wilson. The makeup feature was also won by Borgman.

The UMP DIRTcar Modifieds squared off in their 20-lap A-Main. When the checkered flag waved it was the defending track champion David Mielke picking up the win. Jeff Erickson Jr. finished second. John Hammerle, Drew Wilkerson, and Dylan Woodling rounded out the top five. Mielke also won the makeup feature.

The Michigan Dirt Modifieds would see Troy Marciniak win the 15-lap main event. Steve McClees would finish second. Josh Grabe, Ted Cooper, and Joe Carmean finished the top five. The makeup feature was won by Grabe.

Ada, Michigan native Paul Namey picked up the win in the 15-lap Street Stock feature event. Derek Poland was the runner up finisher. Mark Farber, Josh Sternberg, and Kris Fewless completed the top five. Poland found victory lane in the makeup feature.

The Bombers division held a 15-lap shootout. When the dust finally settled it was 12-year old Evan Shotko making the trip to victory lane. This was the rookie Coopersville, Michigan driver’s first career win. Mike Roe was second. Kevin Rake, Bill May, and Mike Fekken made up the rest of the top five. Dan Wilson Jr. won the makeup feature.

Gary Larabee was the winner of the 15-lap Four-Cylinder Warriors feature event. He beat out Brian Carson who was second. Buck Spencer, Mason Bareman, and Melissa Sprague capped off the top five. The makeup feature was won by Carson.

The Young Guns rolled out for a 12-lap main event. Ronnie VanNatter would be the first to the checkered flag. 15-year old Gabe Flores finished second. Jesse Flores, 16-year old Chelsey Allen, and 14-year old Nathan Magner rounded out the top five. Flores won the makeup feature.
