Lucas Oil ASCS Hits the Road to Knoxville at I-80 Speedway

GREENWOOD, Neb. (July 25, 2015) Making the drive back to the Midwest, the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network makes the trip to the I-80 Speedway and the Road to Knoxville.

Presented in conjunction with Durst Motorsports, Huffman Productions, Inc., and the I-80 Speedway, the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network, along with the FVP National Sprint League will be in action at the I-80 Speedway on Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31.

Leading into the 2015 Southern Iowa Speedweek, which includes the Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals, Front Row Challenge, and FVP Knoxville Nationals, the chance of a pit area with close to 100 Sprint Cars is very real as the combined payout between the two Sprint Car sanctions and Modifieds is looking to top $140,000.

While Aaron Reutzel leads the charge for the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour, fans will have a close eye on Wayne Johnson. Pocketing over $60,000 in 2014 with the sweep of the Fall Brawl, Johnson will look to continue his success at the sweeping four-tenths mile oval. Riding momentum with four podium runs in the series last five outings, Johnson currently rides third in driver standings 107 points behind Reutzel, who has been like house of fire in 2015 with 10 podium finishes resulting in five wins.

Sitting between the two is Johnny Herrera. Finding the top of the podium three nights in the last five, with Reutzel winning the other two, Herrera raced to victory this past Friday night at the Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, S.D. A race that looked to be in the bag for Aaron, engine woes relegated the No. 87 to a fourth place finish. Seth Bergman currently holds forth in tour standings with Matt Covington completing the top-five. Blake Hahn holds sixth with Kyle Bellm currently leading the Brodix Rookie of the Year standings in seventh. Jordan Weaver has climbed to eighth with Kris Miller and Jeff Swindell making the top-ten.
