6/26/2015 (Auburn, MI) Some of the drivers from the Auburn Hotel Bar and Grill Street Stocks took on the main event on a beautiful Friday night as the tried and survive the fun, scary and sometimes destructive Figure 8, risking it all to bring home some extra cash.

X5 Eric Lake was looking to go two-for-two in not just the Figure 8 but, as well as the Street Stock division on Friday as he had to start in the middle of the 10 car pack. As they took the green flag for this 20-lap main event, the fast qualifier and pole setter #78 Steven Briggs let them to the green flag. Briggs led the field for the first three laps until Eric Lake marched his way through the back and took advantage of a Briggs slip up coming out of the corner to take the lead. Lake would continue to lead and avoid some very close calls with other cars coming through the crossover to the very end and take his second win of the year in the Figure 8 Series. #01X Randy Radabaugh would finish in the second position, third #0 Ray Derminer, followed by #72K Bob Kosha and #9 Marc Super to round out the top five.

The Auburn Hotel Bar and Grill Street Stock would show some drivers taking on double duty as #X5 of Eric Lake was trying to take his second win of the night. Lake was going to have to fight hard to get hit with this impressive field on hand. #9 Marc Super would take the green flag lead the field to the green but coming out of turn two, #90 Derek Pickvet would take the lead and lead lap one. After coming out of turn two once again, we would have another lead change as #3C Mitch Clements would take the lead. Trouble would happen on lap 3 as #9 Brian Schneidmiller would get turned and flipped over; luckily landing back on his wheels but a scary ride for Schneidmiller. He was alright after the crash. After a little bit of clean-up during the red flag the Street Stocks went back to green flag racing and an name you heard earlier Eric Lake would find some room down low in turn three and would take the lead on lap four. Lake had is work cut out for him as he had to defend the points leader #28 Jared Rizer, #57 T.J. Gilbert, and #7R Dave Newcomb as they raced behind him to try and take that lead. The great battle for second lasted a little too long as Lake was able to pull away giving no time for Gilbert to catch him as Eric Lake goes two-for-two on the night and takes the win in the Auburn Hotel Bar and Grill Street Stock Series. Second place goes to #57 T.J. Gilbert as he started off the night with some issues in the heat race causing him not to finish and had to race his way in by winning the B-Main. The Street Stocks points leader #28 Jared Rizer, #7R Dave Newcomb and #72K Bob Kosha would round out the top five.

71 Timmy Near in the Elgin Pro Stock Series was looking for back-to-back wins as he would start of in sixth after taking the win in the second heat race. #10B Joe Batts would lead the field to the green and hold the lead for the first lap. #11L Josh Loomis after an impressive win in the first heat race would take the lead on lap two. On lap five #71 Timmy Near found his way through the lead pack and was able to take the lead from Loomis. After a few laps in the lead, #21 and current points leader Steven Hilliker, slowly and carefully made his way through the pack after starting in the middle of the field to take the lead on lap ten. Once Hilliker took the lead it is usually hard for anybody to catch him and it was the same results Friday as #21 Steven Hilliker would increase his points lead and pick up his fifth win of the season in the Elgin Pro Stock Series. Coming in second was #71 Timmy Near, followed by #21D of Darrren Mularz, #M65 Rick Spencer and #91 Gary Shank. Loomis after a strong run all night would drop out with mechanical issues at four to go and would finish in tenth position.

The Hasting Racing Rings Late Models would duke it out in their 25-lap feature as #34 Frank Seder would lead the field to the green. He would not hold that lead for long as #41X Jesse Playter would take the lead coming through turn two. He would find himself another challenger as #0P and past winner this year Kris Patterson Jr. would take the lead on lap three. Playter would not give up there though as he would fight to get pass Patterson on lap five. Then on lap ten the defending champion #0X Zack Olger, after being involved in a crash early in the first heat race, would find some room up high on Playter and take the lead. After Olger took the lead he pulled away from the field and would take the victory in the Hasting racing Rings Late Models. Second would go to #41X Jesse Playter. #4T Andrew Terrill, last week’s winner, #5B Brook Brasington and points leader #21H David Hilliker would round out your top five. #0P of Kris Patterson Jr. would have mechanical issues and would cause him to not finish the race, causing him to finish 17th.

In the 20-lap feature for the Main Street Seed and Supply, #53 Nathan Oswald would lead the field to the green flag. Oswald would go on to lead the first two laps until #5 Tanner Pray would find some room and take the lead. Pray would not be able to hold the lead for long as well as #27 Matt Szecsodi would sneak underneath to take the lead position on lap five. After a few laps of leading for Szecsodi, he would feel some preasure for the current points leader, #7D Myron DeYoung would find some room down low and take the lead on lap nine. #20W of A.J. Ward would find his way through the pack, but it was too late as Myron would get win #101 in his IMCA Modifieds career after picking up win #100 last Saturday. #20W A.J Ward would finish second, #615 Chad Wernette in third, #03C Chris Cohoon in fourth and #5 Tanner Pray would finish fifth.
