Hahn Enjoys First Lucas Oil ASCS Victory
SAPULPA, Okla. (June 10, 2015) Blake Hahn finally accomplished a goal he set out to conquer four years ago when the Oklahoma shoe first set behind the wheel of a Sprint Car, earning his first Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour win this past Saturday night at the Salina Highbanks Speedway.
“I’m actually still numb that we finally got the job done,” commented Hahn.
“We drew the 52 pill and got a good start in the Heat to set us up for the redraw. We started seventh in the Main, so we decided to free the car up because the track looked like it might take rubber. The top was really far around I stayed to the bottom early on and got to third but I saw Aaron [Reutzel] running the top and tried it thinking it had taken rubber, and that allowed Wayne [Johnson] to get by me. It sucked the caution was for Aaron, but it allowed us to get the out spot back and from there, we just stayed on the bottom.”
Looking ahead to this weekend, Hahn and the CSR Garage No. 52 will head to the Devil’s Bowl Speedway for the 42nd Summer Nationals, and start to the 23rd ASCS Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek.
“We haven’t been able to run this car at Devil’s Bowl, but it’s similar as far as the speed you carry so we’re going to try a similar setup there that we did at Salina and hopefully we can carry some momentum into Saturday night.”
Hahn’s best finish at the half-mile oval came in the 2014 Summer Nationals when he finished second to Seth Bergman.
