NELMS Visits Cottage Grove Speedway For Second Race Of The Season

Cottage Grove, Oregon- The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series will be back in action after a week off. They head to Cottage Grove Speedway for the 1/4-mile clay oval's Springfield Chamber Of Commerce/Pepsi Family Night. Pepsi Family Night means folks who purchase a Family Pass (consisting of two adults and up to four youths) for $30.00 will receive complimentary small sodas courtesy of Pepsi. A great car count is expected to be on hand as well as some great racing.
The series has held just one race in 2015, at Sunset Speedway Park on April 25th, and that was won by Joey Tanner. Add into the mix all of the local Cottage Grove Speedway Late Model drivers and you've got a recipe for some exciting action. Curtis Towns has three wins at CGS this year and Jesse Williamson won the race last weekend.
Historically the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series has visited CGS a handful of times, four occasions to be exact. In those four races Shawn Mayea won the only race last year and Collen Winebarger swept the two visits in 2013. Billy Workman Jr. is the only other driver to have won at “The Grove” as he picked up the win in the tour’s inaugural visit back in 2011.
Admission prices are Adults $13.00, Juniors/Seniors/Military $10.00, Youths (Ages 6-12) $5.00, and 5 & Under FREE. Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Qualifying 5:30, and Racing begins right around 6:45.
