Lebanon, Oregon- In just two starts at two different tracks Darren Coffell is showing lots of speed in 2015. In his only Super Dirt Late Model start of the season at Willamette Speedway, on April 18th, he would finish an impressive third. The other race was on April 4th at Cottage Grove and was a fifth place result. It isn't a bad first couple of races for the Bend native and three-time Willamette Speedway track champion as well as twice a title holder of the Bud I-5 Series.

“It hasn't been too bad, I mean I really can't complain too much,” stated Coffell, “this is a new race car so it's been a bit of learning process but I'm pretty pleased with the way things are going.”

Last season Coffell finished eighth in points and posted six top five finishes including a season best second on September 13th. Now he will enter Fight Hunger Night at Willamette Speedway with a bit of momentum on Saturday May 2nd after a week off.

“It was nice to have a week off and I'm looking forward to a good result Saturday,” he would continue, “we need to pick up a little bit of speed but we're getting there.”

Keep an eye on the Driving Force Graphics/Tube Shark Portable Tube Benders/JimsFlagSales.com/Clements Racing Engines #46 Rocket this weekend as he looks to make it three top fives in a row. It should be a fun night of racing at the 1/3-mile clay oval so don't miss out on the action.

Other classes that will be racing include the IMCA Modifieds, Sportsman, and Street Stocks. Pit Gates will open at 1:00 PM, the Pit Meeting will take place at 2:30, Front Gates open at 3:30, and Racing starts at 6:00. Tickets for this event are Adults $14.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
