Quick Look: 14th annual Ronald Laney Memorial

TAMPA, Fla. (February 16, 2015) The start to the 2015 season for the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by MAVTV American Real sits days away with 50 drivers pre-entered, with closer to 60 expected, for the $10,000 to win King of the 360's and Ronald Laney Memorial East Bay Raceway Park.

For the 14th annual Ronald Laney Memorial, happening February 19, 20, and 21, drivers will have to make every lap count if they want to make the cut on Saturday night. Not only does the event pay full ASCS National Tour points each night, the Thursday and Friday Preliminary Nights award points that combine to determine who makes the top six cut for Saturday's lock-in.

Preliminary nights will follow ASCS National Tour format with draw to determine Heat Race lineups. Passing points during Heat Races will determine who advanced to "A" or "B" Features.

For the Preliminary Nights, points awarded for event purposes only are as follows:

Heat Race: Winner shall be awarded 12 points, with each position dropping by one point thereafter. (Scale: 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, etc.)

B-Feature: First non-transfer driver shall be awarded 171 points, with each position dropping by one point thereafter. (Scale: 171, 170, 169, 168, 167, 166, 165, etc.)

A-Feature: Winner shall be awarded 200 points, with each position dropping by one point thereafter. (Scale: 200, 199, 198, 197, 196, 195, 194, etc.)

**Any ties will be broken according to combined passing points from Thursday and Friday Heat Races.

Saturday Format

Top six (6) in combined points from Thursday and Friday features locked into Saturday's $10,000 to win, 40-lap Ronald Laney Memorial will redraw for their starting position inside the first three rows.
