Willamette Speedway would host another terrific night of action on Saturday August 9th. Four classes were in competition which included the X-Factor Race Cars Super Late Models, Wirth Wireless IMCA Modifieds, Albany & Eastern Railroad Sportsman, and Street Stocks.

In the X-Factor Race Cars Super Late Models the division made their return to the historic 1/3-mile clay oval after being several weeks away. The main event would be a caution plagued affair but when it was all said and done Tangent’s Trevor Glaser, driving the Thomas Hunziker owned Spirit Fueled Racing/Gray’s Automotive/AM-1 Roofing #38 Victory Circle, would end up in victory lane to win his first race of the year after taking over the top spot with about fifteen laps remaining.

Matt Mitchell would have the field covered in the Wirth Wireless IMCA Modified feature. Mitchell would lead the most laps of the race including the ones that would count. It would mark the third time that Mitchell would put his A-Line Concrete Cutting/Shepard Performance/Van Raden Industries/Interstate Crane Rentals #15M Rayburn in the winner’s circle.

Veteran chauffeur Sandy Sanders would have a clean sweep in the Albany & Eastern Railroad Sportsman ranks. Sanders, in his Royalty Homes #43 Avenger, would take over the lead around the halfway mark and pulled away once in the lead.

Last but not least the Street Stocks would put on one heck of a performance. Kyle Yeack of Lebanon would get to start towards the back and found his way to the front in the Roy and Haven Doran owned Doran Racing #47 Monte Carlo. Yeack wasn’t out of the woods just yet as he had to keep in check Albany’s Bricen James, driving the James Gang Pizza/Lebanon Auto Body/Rainbow Rentals/Schram Brothers Excavating #13 Monte Carlo. Yeack would hold on for the win making it the third time that he has won in the Street Stocks this year.

On Saturday August 16th Willamette Speedway will be hosting the final leg of the Summer Sizzle Tour. This race is for Kage Karts and will feature the best drivers on the entire Pacific Coast. For more information log on to www.trophymotorsports.com.
