Walters Sweeps NELMS Weekend At Willamette

The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series would be on tap once again at Willamette Speedway on Saturday July 26th for their second night of the doubleheader. Thirteen drivers from the states of Oregon and Washington would be on hand to put on quite the show at the historic 1/3-mile clay oval.
Jerry Schram of Vancouver, Washington would put his Schram Brothers Excavating/Century III Stables/Bodies By Steve-O #16 MasterSbilt in the lead on the initial start. Schram would pace the field but would receive some pressure from some fast company around lap ten.
Eighth starting Greg Walters from Banks would begin to challenge for the top spot briefly before overtaking Schram for the lead on lap eleven. Walters, in the T&G Trucking/Schram Brothers Excavating/American Landscaping/Duncan Automotive #97 Victory Circle, would battle hard to secure the position and eventually would develop a large lead to win his seventh race of the 2014 and his fourth career series victory at Willamette.
Jerry Schram would place second followed by the DCM Trucking/Xtreme Motorsports/T-Mac Performance #8X MasterSbilt of Scio’s Steve Moore in third driving for car owner Sonny Modaff. The balance of the top five would be Dave Walters of Gresham in his All-In Property Investments/X-Factor Race Cars/Warpaint Motorsports Graphix #67 MasterSbilt in fourth while the Mechanical Systems Inc./Greenway Construction #28 Victory Circle of Bob Trout from Banks was fifth.
Greg Walters was fast time of the night while heat races were won by Walters and Bob Trout. To make it another clean sweep of the evening’s event Walters would win the trophy dash. The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series return to Sunset Speedway Park on Saturday August 2nd for the annual Doug Walters Classic.
