World of Outlaws Boothill Showdown Tickets Going Fast!

Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (May 22, 2014) – The annual invasion is just six short weeks away. That time when the Wild West town of Dodge City, KS, gets just a little wilder with the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars annual two-day event atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval.

Amidst one of the most hotly-contested seasons in World of Outlaws history, the world’s premier Sprint Car series annual World of Outlaws Boothill Showdown presented by Roto-Mix at Dodge City Raceway Park is set for July 4-5, the first Friday and Saturday of July.

Advance tickets for the popular event are already selling rapidly online at http://dirtcar.ticketforce.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=129.

Advance ticket combos for both nights are available for $75 for reserved seats and just $65 for general admission. Fans who purchase tickets in advance will also receive a free fan pit pass. Single day tickets are $45 for reserved seating and $40 for general admission. Children’s tickets (12 and under) are $10 per night in general admission seating only.

Fourteen different drivers have reached victory lane through the initial 29 World of Outlaws feature events of the 2014 campaign with reigning champion Daryn Pittman of Owasso, OK, recently surging to the top of the point charts on the strength of a four-race win streak.

With his four-race streak pushing his season total to a series’ best seven wins thus far, Pittman holds a slim 19-point lead over Indiana’s Joey Saldana with five-time series champion Donny Schatz of North Dakota just another 19 points back in third. California native Paul McMahan remains well within striking distance of the title in fourth, just 68 points off the lead pace, with Australian Kerry Madsen rounding out the current top five.

Others battling for Outlaw honors on a nightly basis include “King of the Outlaws” Steve Kinser, the 20-time champion on his World of Outlaws farewell tour, along with Kraig Kinser, Sammy Swindell, Brad Sweet, Cody Darrah, David Gravel, Jason Sides, Logan Schuchart and Jacob Allen.

Last year, Pittman and Schatz split World of Outlaws Boothill Showdown honors as they battled it out for the series crown. It marked the second triumph for both drivers at DCRP, with Pittman previously winning in 2007 and Schatz previous score occurring in 2008.

The 2012 Boothill Showdown was an all-Kinser affair with Steve taking the opening night win before son Kraig took the final night. Steve Kinser won the first World of Outlaws feature at DCRP in 2004.

While Pittman is the most recent Outlaw winner at DCRP on July 6 of last year after Schatz nipped Sides at the line on the opening night, the reigning champion’s closest challenger in points has enjoyed the most Dodge City success. Joey Saldana has reached victory lane at DCRP on five different occasions, though his most recent score took place in 2010.

In addition to the World of Outlaws Boothill Showdown on July 4-5, Dodge City Raceway Park’s 15 nights of scheduled competition includes a varied mix of championship chase action along with Sprint Cars, Late Models and more.

Dodge City Raceway Park is located on the south edge of Dodge City, KS, on US 283, then 0.9 miles west on US 56, then 0.1 miles south. For more information, contact the track at 620-225-3277 or check www.dodgecityraceway.com.
