Northwest Extreme Late Model Series Back At GHR One Last Time

Elma, Washington- The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series is excited to return to action this weekend for two nights of the Harbor Classic Weekend at the Grays Harbor Raceway. The premier touring Dirt Late Model series of the Pacific Northwest will tackle the mighty 3/8-mile clay oval on Saturday August 31st and Sunday September 1st. Don’t miss your last chance to see the excitement and feel the adrenaline that is the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series.
Saturday evening will mark the twelfth race of the season and the first since the Doug Walters Classic at Sunset Speedway Park back on August 3rd. So far the win chart has been dominated by Greg Walters and Collen Winebarger in 2013. Both drivers have five wins apiece while Jerry Schram has just a single triumph. Entering this weekend Greg Walters has a slim two point lead in the standings over Collen Winebarger.
Since 2010 the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series has visited GHR on eight occasions. In the eight completed events there have been seven different winners. Jason Wines is the only driver to win twice at GHR when the series has come to town. Drivers with just a single trip to victory lane include Casey Vitale, Brady Sell, Joey Tanner, Greg Walters, Collen Winebarger, and Jerry Schram.
After the Harbor Classic Weekend only two more events remain in the 2013 season for the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series. A trip to the Sunset Speedway Park on September 7th and the Cottage Grove Speedway on the 14th will be all that is left of the current campaign.
The Grays Harbor Raceway is known for its high speeds and side by side racing as well as its large track size. Hosting racing action from April to October regular classes include 360 Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, USAC Ford Focus Midgets, Street Stocks, Hornets, and for the first time the Northwest Extreme Winged Sprint Cars.
