Jim’s Thriftway 100 This Saturday At SSP

Banks, Oregon- The biggest Street Stock race in the state of Oregon is back at the Sunset Speedway Park on Saturday August 10th. The Jim’s Thriftway 100 will feature the best Street Stock drivers around for one-hundred laps on the always exciting Banks bullring. Also competing during the course of the night will be the Northwest Wingless Tour and the Northwest Extreme Modifieds.
Currently right now defending champ Craig Loomis is the point leader in the Street Stock division. He is tied with Brian Roden for most wins in 2013 as each have visited the winner’s circle three times apiece. Earning his second win last week Marc Farrar is the only other driver to have won more than once so far during the current campaign. Street Stock chauffeurs with just a single win include John Ireland and Tony Catalano.
The Northwest Wingless Tour will host their thirteenth race of the season this Saturday night. Of the twelve action-packed races completed so far, three have taken place at SSP and have produced three different winners. Mitch Hoffses, Bill Winsley, and Sterling Kane have already graced victory lane. Will another winner emerge or will we see a repeat winner this weekend?
Last but certainly not least the Northwest Extreme Modifieds are excited to get back to racing. Rick Graham has been the dominant entry all year long in the division accomplishing six wins in seven starts. The only driver to have beaten him so far is Rob Ireland. Will someone else be able to stop Graham or will Graham capture his seventh victory in his eighth start?
On Saturday front gates open up at 3:30 PM with racing scheduled to start at 6:00 PM. Admission is Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military $10.00, Children (6-12) $5.00, Children (5 and Under) FREE, and Family Pack (Two Adults and Two Children) $30.00.
