Cottage Grove, Oregon- After a year hiatus the Cottage Grove Speedway Modified Nationals returns to “The Grove”. The event, which dates as far back as 2003, expects to draw the best IMCA Modified motorists in the entire Pacific Northwest. Racing will be conducted over the period of two nights starting with Friday August 2nd and concluding with Saturday the 3rd. Hornets and the Pro-4’s will be the supports classes on Friday while Saturday it will be Hornets and Street Stocks.

Curtis Towns has the most IMCA Modified wins with two as he seeks his second career title. Drivers with just a single triumph include Mark Carrell, Troy McElroy, Jesse Williamson, and current point leader Braedon Hand. Darin Crooks is well on his way to his second consecutive championship with a total of four trips to the winner’s circle. Daniel Ray has two wins over Steve Begley, Jordan Braaten, and T.J. Langan who have been victorious just once.

The Cottage Grove Speedway has hosted fast and exciting action as far back as 1956. Since then the ¼-mile banked oval has been regarded as a place where fast times are set and plenty of side-by-side racing occurs.
