HOUSE SPRINGS, MO — They came from the Commonwealth of Kentucky and four neighboring states to race their way on the IHRA Summit SuperSeries Mod (No Box) National Top 10 list for 2024.
Justin Minton, who qualified by winning the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular by Moser at Beacon Dragway, stood above the rest. In fact, he stood beside his blue Chevy Nova as the 2024 IHRA Summit SuperSeries Mod World Champion at Holly Springs Motorsports.
There were also drivers from South Dakota to the great Southwest, starting with runner-up Jake Howard, both the track champion and IHRA Division 4 (Renegades) Summit Team Finals winner at Xtreme Raceway Park.
Dustin Sullivan from Thunder Valley Dragways in South Dakota was next. Two drivers representing Crossville Dragway in Tennessee were fourth and fifth. There was Chris Blair, who actually qualified at the IHRA Division 8 (South) Summit Team Finals at Rocket City Dragway. Next was Crossville track champion Travis Loy.
The second half of the top 10 begins with Kil-Kare Raceway champion Joe Barney representing the great state of Ohio. Jim Andrysiak from Bunker Hill Dragstrip, the oldest dragstrip in Indiana, was next, followed by another Texas racer, Kyle Thompson, the track champion at Paris Dragstrip.
The final two also qualified by winning their IHRA Summit SuperSeries track points. Billy McDaniel from Albuquerque Dragway was ninth and Tyron Merilic from Elk Creek Dragway the final driver in the top 10.
