Oakley Johns grabs hometown victory during season finale at Tennessee National Raceway
Duck River Raceway Park’s Gobbler On Tap
HOHENWALD, Tenn. (11/19/24) – Hometown racer Oakley Johns drove to an impressive $6,000 victory on Saturday night at Tennessee National Raceway aboard his Johns Timber / Franklin Enterprises / Cale Finley Performance Parts & Fabrication No. c6 Super Late Model.
The win marked Johns’ third of the season after taking control of the lead on the sixth circuit with an impressive third-to-first move over front-runner Christian Hanger.
“Man, that was fun,” Johns said in victory lane. “We slipped up a bit in the opening laps, but I knew I could retain the lead if I was consistent. Big thanks to all my sponsors who help out and to Jeff Greer for providing me with an awesome car.”
Johns made the short journey to his home track, Tennessee National Raceway in Hohenwald, Tenn., on Saturday night for the venue’s event deemed the Season Finale.
With plans to pull double duty, Johns piloted the Jeff Greer-owned No. 6 Super Late Model to the fastest qualifying lap in his group. Lined up on the front row for the feature, Oakley made quick work of the leader as he took the top spot on lap six and led the remaining 35 circuits to a $6,000 triumph. Johns outran Rusty Schlenk and Jadon Frame in his first Super Late Model victory of the season.
The Tennessee driver also competed in the CRUSA Street Stock division where he would record a third-place finish in the $3,000-to-win main event.

Johns is set to return to action this weekend with a trip to Duck River Raceway Park for the 36th annual Gobbler. The XR Super Series-sanctioned event boasts a $15,000 top prize to the winner.
