USRA Northern Lights Modified Series

Northern Lights Modified Series Ready to Fly in 2025

Grain Valley, MO (November 13, 2024) - Building on the success of the Heartland Modified Tour and the American Racer Modified Series, Heartland Promotions is expanding its commitment to premier modified racing with the formation of the Northern Lights Modified Series (NLMS). In partnership with the United States Racing Association (USRA), the new series will bring top-tier modified racing to the northern Midwest, with events scheduled throughout the 2025 season.

The NLMS will debut at select tracks in the region, anchored by a marquee partnership with Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin, home to some of the year’s most highly anticipated events, including the blockbuster $100,000 to win Modified event.

The NMLS will run six races at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin, as a cornerstone of two major events. The Dairyland Showdown May 1-3 will open the year and the season-ending North Star Nationals, September 4-6. Both events are expected to draw top modified talent from across the region.

For the Dairyland Showdown, the NMLS will run as the support class to the World Of Outlaws Late Models. Drivers will compete for $2,000 to win and $350 to start on the first two nights, while escalating to a $3,000 winner’s purse and $400 to start on Saturday.

The tour will crown the inaugural champion at the 2nd Annual North Star Nationals. With $2,000 to win and $350 to start for the first two nights, the excitement will reach its peak on the final night, offering an impressive $5,000 to win and $500 to start for the final show of the season.

“Bringing the Northern Lights Modified Series to life has been a goal we’ve worked towards for a while” said Trenton Berry of Heartland Promotions. “Our goal is to develop a solid platform for regional modified racers in the upper Midwest. Much like the other two tours we own and operate, we will proudly be USRA sanctioned. Todd Staley has been, and continues to be a huge help to us in all facets of our promotional endeavors. We want to make sure and thank him for allowing this to happen. With tracks like Mississippi Thunder on your side, along with many more we will announce in the near future, this tour is full steam ahead.”

Heartland Promotions is currently finalizing dates for the season schedule and working with marketing partners seeking to connect with a passionate and loyal audience.
