Chase Holland drives to podium result at Charleston Speedway
Two shows in the Land of Lincoln were on the schedule for Chase Holland and his Industrial Dock & Door No. 45 Modified team on Friday and Saturday. After an inauspicious start, Holland ended the trip with a strong podium performance.
Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois, played host to Holland on Friday as he was one of 25 entrants in the 3/8-mile track’s DIRTcar UMP Modified class. He started strong and had opened a large lead in his heat race when his engine blew, ending his evening before the 25-lap, $1,000-to-win A-Main.
After getting the engine swapped out, Holland and his crew headed to Charleston (Illinois) Speedway the next night to participate in a 27-car DIRTcar UMP Modified field.
Holland began the night by turning in the quickest time in qualifying with a 14.242-second lap around the quarter-mile oval. He started on the pole in the 25-lap main event and led the first five circuits before ultimately finishing third. He rounded out the podium behind Ryan Hamilton and Mike Harrison, with Zeb Moake coming home fourth and Danny Schwartz taking the fifth spot.
