Pockets $2,500 for Fifth Win of 2024

BRENHAM, Texas (09/24/24) – Austin Theiss rolled to his fifth win of the season over the weekend with an American Crate Late Model Series triumph in Saturday’s Southern World Finals at Hunt County Raceway.

The driver of the Saye Plumbing Contractors / Performance Race Engineering No. 7D XR1 Rocket Chassis Late Model pocketed a $2,500 payday for his second victory this season at the quarter-mile Texas oval.

“What an awesome win,” Theiss said. “Big thanks to my crew chief Ryan Foncannon for always busting his butt making sure everything’s ready to go. We have a lot of great sponsors on this car that make this all possible. I can’t thank them enough. Excited to compete with the World of Outlaws this weekend.”

Theiss’ doubleheader weekend with the American Crate Late Model Series kicked off at Hunt County Raceway (Greenville, Texas) on Friday with a pair of heat races setting the stage for Saturday’s Southern World Finals finale.

Aboard his Performance Race Engineering No. 7D Late Model, Theiss crossed the line in fifth in his first heat before charging from third-to-first in his second heat. The finishes earned him a front-row starting spot for Saturday's main event.

With a $2,500 paycheck on the line in Saturday's finale, Theiss moved around pole-starting Dennie Geiber and picked up the victory in the 30-lap main event. Austin secured his richest payday of the year and fifth win of the season.
