Phillips goes to Victory Lane for third straight weekend

Blue Springs, Missouri’s Waylon Phillips returned to his winning ways over the weekend with a Non-Wing Micro triumph at Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex (Sweet Springs, Mo.).

Phillips' flag-to-flag triumph marked his ninth overall win of the 2024 season.

The double duty evening kicked off on Saturday with a heat win in his Outlaw Micro before improving four spots in his Stock Non-Wing heat race to finish third. In a dominant performance in the Community Bank Non-Wing Micro main event, Waylon cruised to his ninth win of the season in the 20-lapper. He finished 7.843 seconds ahead of Chase Koch with Braden Knipmeyer joining the podium.

Phillips capped off his evening with a strong second-place outing in his Non-Wing Outlaw A-Main. He tracked down race-leader Cam Sorrels late but ran out of time to make a move.
