Thompson posts runner-up result in Abe Lincoln Memorial
A trip to Columbus, Nebraska, and US 30 Speedway was on the docket for Cody Thompson on Saturday. He came away from the 1/3-mile oval with a strong second-place finish.
Thompson was one of 14 IMCA Modified drivers on hand for the second day of the 28th annual Abe Lincoln Memorial, necessitating two heat races. He drove his Team Harris Auto Racing No. 25c from seventh to fourth in his heat, then started the 20-lap, $1,015-to-win feature from the pole.
He brought home a second-place finish in the A-Main, taking the checkered flag 3.624 seconds behind winner Anthony Roth. Paul Nagle, Shane DeMey and Austin Svoboda completed the top five.
