Honeycutt and Lopez claim top-10 CARS Tour results at South Boston
Bryson Lopez Racing (BLR) was at South Boston Speedway on Saturday for the Pro Late Model portion of the zMAX CARS Tour AutosByNelson.com 280. BLR drivers Kaden Honeycutt and Brandon Lopez each turned in strong top-10 finishes at the historic 4/10-mile track in southern Virginia.
In Saturday’s qualifying session, Honeycutt drove his No. 47 Terminal Maintenance & Construction Chevrolet SS to the fifth-quickest time in the 16-car field, while Lopez qualified 15th aboard his No. 6 Atlanta Paving & Concrete Construction Chevrolet SS.
Honeycutt climbed one position in the 100-lap, $4,000-to-win feature and finished fourth behind Spencer Davis, Tristan McKee and Caden Kvapil. T.J. DeCaire rounded out the top five.
With his solid result, Honyecutt remains in the thick of the Pro Late Model championship chase.
Meanwhile, Lopez moved steadily forward in the 100-lapper as he picked up eight spots and came home seventh.
