Creek Co. Speedway and 81 Speedway Next For ASCS Sooner Region

Back on track this Friday and Saturday night, the ASCS Sooner Region will take on tracks in Oklahoma and Kansas, with Sapulpa's Creek County Speedway on August 16, followed by 81-Speedway in Park City on August 17.

The site of 152 ASCS National and Regional events since 1993, Creek County Speedway kicked off the 2024 season for the ASCS Sooner Region, with Seth Bergman mounting a massive charge for the win. Last seeing action in June during the ASCS National Tour Speedweek, Sam Hafertepe, Jr. picked up his sixth career win at the quarter-mile oval.

A more recent addition to the ASCS lineup, 81-Speedway has been part of Regional and National lineups every year since 2017, with scattered events before that with NCRA. One visit in July, Hafertepe picked up win No. 6 with the National Tour this season and his first at the Kansas track.

Casey Wills leads the ASCS Sooner Region standings going into the weekend double by 131 markers over Blake Hahn. Third is held by defending series champion Fred Mattox, with Alex Sewell and multi-time Sooner Region Champion Sean McClelland making up the top five.

Friday, August 16, at Creek County Speedway, opens at 5:00 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m. (CT). Tickets are $20 for adults, and kids 10 and under get into the stands for free. Other divisions on the card include USRA Modifieds, USRA B-Mods, NOW600 Dwarf Cars, and Factory Stocks.

Saturday, August 17 at 81-Speedway includes Alternative Pest Management USRA Modifieds, Kansas Tow Company USRA B-Mods, Rage Jerky Mini Stocks, and Allied Energy and Battery, Inc. Stock Cars. Gates open at 3:00 p.m. for the pits and 5:00 p.m. for the stands. Hot Laps are at 6:00 p.m., with racing at 7:00 p.m. (CDT).

Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and military, and free for kids 10 and under. 81-Speedway is located at 7700 N Broadway in Park City, Kan. More information can be found on the track's website.

The 2024 season marks the 33rd season of competition for the American Sprint Car Series. Spearheaded by the American Sprint Car Series National Tour, the ASCS Nation includes Regional Tours encompassing Wing and Non-Wing competition.
