Renowned Peter Murphy Classic Becomes Kubota High Limit Racing Event on August 16 at Kings Speedway

When Kubota High Limit Racing rolls into Hanford, CA's Kings Speedway for the first time ever on Friday, August 16, the series will sanction a familiar and prolific west coast race - the Peter Murphy Classic.

A native of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, Murphy built an impressive career both down under and in America when he moved to Clovis, California. Injured in a 2013 crash, Peter promoted his first event in 2014 and has made it a yearly tradition since in an effort to give back to the racers and fans who supported him throughout his career and more importantly, his time of need.

The event will still feature the iconic Pole Shuffle that Peter grew up watching and competing in from Australia. Instead of the traditional dash, it's a one-vs-one, two-lap sprint over multiple rounds to determine the front few rows of the A-Main.

Sanctioned by Kubota High Limit Racing now, the Peter Murphy Racing will pay an event-record $20,000-to-win, $1,500-to-start. A pair of High Rollers, Rico Abreu (2017 at Tulare) and Corey Day (2023 at Hanford) are already Peter Murphy Classic winners under the NARC King of the West banner.

Dominic Scelzi will be trying to make it four-consecutive years of winning at the Peter Murphy Classic, having topped races in honor of his hero at both Tulare and Hanford. A victory would not only net him a cool $20,000 and extend his record, but also mark his first-career win against a National Sprint Car Series that he's been oh, so close to on countless occasions.

Fans interested in attending the Peter Murphy Classic on Friday, August 16 at Kings Speedway in Hanford, CA can hurry and take advantage of saving $5 per ticket before prices rise following Friday, August 2.
