Second-place finish in Ray Houck Memorial at Adams County
A pair of co-sanctioned Malvern Bank West & East Series events brought Kyle Berck Motorsports to the Hawkeye State over the weekend to compete in his Speedee Mart No. 14 Late Model.
For the seventh annual Dale DeFrance Memorial on Friday at Marshalltown (IA) Speedway, Berck stormed into the $4,544-to-win A-Main with a consolation victory after missing a transfer spot in his heat race. Pinned on the ninth row, Kyle faded to 21st at the checkers.
At Adams County Speedway (Corning, Iowa) on Saturday for the Ray Houck Memorial, Kyle topped the overall speed charts with a blistering 20.311-second lap in time trials before placing fifth in his heat race. Gunning for the $4,000 top prize in the feature, Berck rolled to a consistent second-place finish in the 30-lap affair. He joined race-long pacesetter Bill Leighton Jr. on the podium with Tad Pospisil coming in third.
