Ward continues season at Huset’s
Morgan Ward climbed aboard her No. 37JR Late Model on Tuesday and Wednesday to compete in a pair of events with the Tri-State Late Model Series.
On Tuesday, she was part of an impressive 45-car field at the 3/8-mile Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota, where a $6,000 first-place payout was on the line in the Ben Northdurft Memorial. Ward ran into trouble in her heat race and recorded an eighth-place result after a DNF. She did not start her B-Main or the 35-lap main event.
The next night, 41 Tri-State Late Models were at the state-of-the-art Huset’s track as part of the Silver Dollar Nationals. Ward took third in her heat and fifth in her B-Main, ending her night before the 30-lap, $3,000-to-win feature.
